One More Thing on a Vegetarian Diet

Hey Girls! Okay, this is the last thing, I promise. I just find this topic interesting, especially since I've recently converted to a vegetarian diet. Check out this article:

I can't dispute it's ethical arguments, but the nutritional/health reasons for being a vegetarian are up for debate. I've changed by diet for the ethical reasons but it's important to ensure we're not denying our bodies what they need to be healthy.

Also, make sure you read the comments section at the bottom of the blog. They are also pretty informative-- several of them arguing against the points made in the article. Let me know what you think!

It's one of like 5 counties that people are citing as being the key deciders in the race ... so sisters, let's get on this. Call your friends, make appeals and prevent any Republicans you may know (I shudder to think!) from getting to the polls!

Hey Ladies!

Ok, since 3/4 of us have decided to give up meat I decided to do a little research on the pros and cons of being on a vegetarian diet. I'm doing it mostly for the animal rights, but I want to make sure I'm still being healthy. I tried doing research online but couldn't find many good, reliable sites. Here are two that seemed okay:

Book Club

Okay guys, let's pick a book! My Executive Director at work suggested I read "Song Yet Sung" by James McBride. What do you all think? It's average rating on Amazon is 5 stars!

I know Linda and I were getting into memoirs, biographies and non-fiction books. If that's what we want to do... does any one have a suggestion? And Karen and Mish-- you gotta read "The Glass Castle" at some point.

My Month Long Diet

Hey guys! I can finally fit into my old Armani jeans again! So exicted, it's like I went shopping and bought new clothes. I haven't been able to fit into those bitches in like a year, lol. Today is day 7 I think of being a vegetarian. It's not too bad, I still eat fish but haven't had much. I have also been working out. I am starting to fall outta my work clothes though, which sucks but I'll just buy some new ones. I'm so excited about NY! I am totally going shopping!!! I get paid that weekend too! I think i have lost 6 lbs. I used to weigh 130 but now I'm 124 according to gold's gym. So happy! Yesterday was also a great day! Redskins beat the Cowgirls!!!

I think we should all go do some fall shoping in the big city, I want to get a dark green purse, and some boots, and a bg sweater I can wear with my tights and a couple other things. What do u think? Single Life....

is pure bliss! Love it! Just to keep you up with my life..... I am over that stupid guy and not ready for any more of them. I am starting to really "find" myself now and see what it's like to do things on my own and make my own decisions! It's really liberating, lol as it should be. It's time for me to focus on the most important thing in life.... ME!!! duh. We all agree don't we. Lin was proud of me last night I totally carried that muth@ focker. ... is such a wonderful actor! I just saw "We Own the Night" and I thought he did an amazing job in that role. The movie is pretty good-- check it out if you get a chance. Joaquin plays "Bobby" a club owner and his brother, played by Mark Wahlberg, plays a cop after the Russian drug sellers working Bobby's club. Eva Mendes is Joaquin's girlfriend.

Compared to an identical SurveyUSA poll released one week ago, immediately following the Republican National Convention, Obama is up 3 points; McCain is down 3.
